Today we headed for another country - Slovakia. But before this we had three stops along the way in Hungary - St Andreas - a brief stop to wander through this small tourist town and to have a really bad cappucino!

Then it was on to a town where there were ruins that we climbed up to and got a magnificent view of the Danube and one of the two major bends in the river.

Goodbye Hungary

The last stop in Hungary was our lunch stop and provided our amusing moment for the day. The tour guide told us of a restaurant where we could get some traditional hungarian goulash. When we got there, Joe noticed that under the goulash item on the menu there was a triple goulash item. He decided to order this as he thought it might be a bit spicier. When it arrived and he started eating it, he said it had a really funny texture - like calamari or something. Well it seems when the restaurant was doing their menu interpretation into English, they wrote the wrong thing on the menu. Instead of triple, they should have written Tripe!!! ugghhh. He stopped eating it straight away and ate the rest of my goulash, as I found it way too salty for my tastes.

It was then on to Bratislava which is the capital of Slovakia. This country was originally part of Czechoslovakia before it split into the two coutries that exist today. We went on a tour of the "old town" on arrival and this was great to walk the cobblestone streets and see all the old buildings. We returned to the hotel where we had a meal, then walked back to the old town and stopped at one of the many cafe's for a coffee.
