Landing in Seville at 9pm i was a little apprehensive to say the least. I somehow had to drive (on the wrong side of the road no doubt) through a busy city and to the hotel. We finally got there without too(!) many dramas. A few toots of annoyance from the locals aside we got there stress free and relatively unscathed. The hotel turned out to be nice and central as well. It may sound like an ABBA tribute band but the location couldn't be faulted.

Once again we had a spare day until i had to start work, so come Sunday morning we hit the town to get our sightseeing in. Climbing aboard the open top tour bus we got a great overview of the city. Even though i had been here before some of the sights seemed new. I don't know if this was because i was so drunk the last time or because i didn't see them in the first place. My guess was the former.

The orange trees in particular give the city a wondrous citrus glow - i haven't seen a city look so gorgeous.

There is no doubting the beauty of Seville. From the Cathedral/Alcazar area and the nearby Santa Cruz to the river containing the bullring and the Torres del Oro, the wonder of the city was easy to see. The orange trees in particular give the city a wondrous citrus glow - i haven't seen a city look so gorgeous.

Over the next five days i went to work some 20km out of Seville at the Cobre minesite. We were based in a small Spanish village and took in many cafes and restaurants during our breaks. The coffee is miles ahead of its British counterpart.  Jane did the tourist thing in Seville and thoroughly enjoyed her visit. jack was happy to play around the hotel lifts - the glass allowing him to be amazed every time we went up or down.

At night we ventured into nearby tapas bars and feasted on some of the most luscious food available, all washed down with the local red. The food was a definite highlight. The lowlight - the fact i got lost getting back to the hotel for the first two days. At least it gave me a self guided tour of the Seville suburbs!

Training over it was time to leave. One last visit of the Santa Cruz area at night where we found a lovely tapas restaurant and it was off again.

As a sidenote i must make mention of the glorious weather - it didn't drop below 20 degrees the whole stay. Heavenly!
