Favorite Photos

My Spanish teacher and I at School on my last day.
During the hurricane this man gave us free live reggae entertainment.....Lyrical King!
It was night time before we got to the island. This is one of my favourite pics, with the moon shining over the volcanoes and the island!
Me jumping off the 7th waterfall at Siete Altares. A hell of a lot of fun.
On top of one of the structures in Tikal
View of the colonial city of Leon, Nicaragua from the roof of a cathedral in the centre. From here I could spot 10 volcanoes and about 15 other cathedrals.....amazing sights.
Isla de Ometepe, Nicaragua - Amit and I in one of the islands restaurants having dinner.
Cartagena, Colombia - The view of the city from the old fort walls. The fort was built all around the city to avoid pirate attacks.
Medellin, Colombia - The view from Pueblito Paisa, a typical traditional village of the Paisas (people from Medellin). I you look closely you can spot the pride of the Paisas - the train - in the background. Medellin is the only city in Colombia with a train system.
Panama City, Panama - The Panama Canal.
Volcan Arenal, Costa Rica, at 6 am in the morning. Yo9u can see the smoke at the top. The eruptions were amazing!
Medellin, Colombia - In the Plaza de Botero. Fernando Botero is probably the most famous Colombian artist the world over. He specialises in paintings and sculptures of fat people and things.
The view from my hostel room in Panama City, Panama.
One of the many fountains in Madrid
Santiago Bernabeu stadium
Nice pic taken from the open-top bus at night
Relaxing by the fire, after getting rained on heavily in Tecpan
The Antigua crew......my housemates and I on my last night in the Antigua house. I miss you guys, man!!!!!!!!
Independence day celebrations in Antigua. Bands were playing all day and fireworks went off for hours on end
Picture of Volcan Agua visible from everywhere in Antigua
From the trip to the macadamia nut factory
Photo taken from the bus on the way to Volcan Pacaya. You can see the volcano smoking!!!
Another smoking volcano pic, taken from the bus.
A view from the top of the volcano. In the background, the lake is a pure mineral water lake
Towards the end of the trek.
Taken on the way down from the volcano.....we were only half way down!!
My housemates.......a fun lot. You can see the beard in its glory....though its grown much more now!!!!
At last, at the top of the volcano......worth the long trek as we saw this!!! Spewing lava! We were only 10 metres away!!
The tree that I planted after Wilma destroyed many on the beach.
My Spanish School - Ixchel. Antigua Guatemala.
One of the cathedrals in the city of Santa Ana, El Salvador
During my weekend in Tecpan with my housemates James and Miran. We stayed at James`s`uncle`s farmhouse, which was alot of fun.
James and I during a trek in the forests surrounding the farm
Lago de Coatepeque.....que bellisimo si? Surrounded by volcanoes, the main one being Volcan Santa Ana which erupted on 1st Oct 2005
Chilling on a hammock by the beach in Rio Dulce, Guatemala
In Livingston, Guatemala, with some of the guys I shared my dorm with.
One of the 7 falls in Sieie Altares, Livingston, Guatemala.
Sunrise over Tikal......seeing this view from above the pyramids and the vast jungle was absolutely magical!!!!
Picture of the main square in the colonial city of Granada, Nicaragua.
In Caye Caulker, Belize. The picture is of the dock outside the hostel I stayed at. This was before Hurricane Wilma hit.
The same dock after Wilma
Back again in Flores, Guatemala
At Tazumal ruins, Chachualpa, El Salvador
On top of one of the ruins at Tazumal
Lago de Coatepeque, El Salvador
At Copan Ruins, Honduras. This was probably the best thing I saw in Honduras. Apart from that, there wasnt much else. The ruins were spectacular in that the details of the carvings etc were preserved very well over the years. But the overall experience was nowhere near that of Tikal, Guatemala (and it was more expensive, and a smaller place).
The view from another part of the roof.
The view of the 2 volcanoes that make up Isla de Ometepe, Nicaragua - Madera and Concepcion. This photo was taken on the ferry journey there.
San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua - Sunset seen from a beach bar whilst having a drink.
Majagual, Nicaragua - Amit and I chilling by the cave before the big waves hit!
On the way to Monteverde, Costa Rica. I hitch-hiked with 2 Costa Rican guys, and we stopped off on the way to admire such beautiful scenery.
Monteverde, Costa Rica - Weeheeeeeeee Canopy tour over the rainforest!!
La Fortuna, Costa Rica - At Volcan Arenal when it was spewing out red hot lava.
La Fortuna, Costa Rica - Volcan Arenal spewing out lava at night......amazing sight!
Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica - This pic was taken in a small beach village near Puerto Viejo, when I did the day bicycle trip.....great fun!
Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica - On my bike whilst cycling to the nearby villages on our day trip.
Bocas del Torro, Panama - We went here to relax on a Sunday afternoon whilst on the islands. Its a restaurant in the middle of the sea.....cool place, and alot of cool snorkelling in the area.
Bocas del Torro, Panama - Sunset from the boat.
Panama city, Panama - The famous Panama Canal. The water on the right side of the picture is 23 feet higher then the left. Ships come from the right and the water level is lowered 23 feet so that they can continue their journey from the pacific to the atlantic, via the canal.
A ship passing through the Panama Canal (Miraflores Locks)
Zipaquira, Colombia - One of the 14 crosses in the salt cathedral. The cathedral holds the record for the largest underground cross in the world.
Medellin, Colombia - Me and Andres (Colombian friend I made in Taganga)chilling at the highest point of Pueblito Paisa.
Panama city, Panama - Taken from near the houses of parliament, with the sea and the city behind.
Medellin, Colombia - View from the Metrocable system of transport into the highlands.
Panama City, Panama - Manuel Noreagas house when he was captured by the CIA.
Panama City, Panama - One of the best sights in Panama, the Hindu Temple, atop a hill, with amazing views of the whole city. It was great to see a temple in the middle of Latin America.
Panama City, Panama - The view of the city from the Hindu Temple atop a hill. Magnificent all round views.
Cartagena, Colombia - Taken during a trip to the fort that surrounds the city.
Cartagena, Colombia - A rare sight......a toucan!!
The mud volcano that I went to in the Caribbean side of Colombia. It was a very unique feeling.....osmething like being in space because you automatically float and its difficult to manouvre yourself.....and YES, my skin WAS very smooth after!
Bocas del Torro, Panama - Stan (AKA crazy French Guy), me and a Panamanian friend out on the town.
Cartagena, Colombia - Caribbean baby! Typical day on the beach.
Tayrona National Park, Colombia. This is where I stayed for 2 days whilst diving.......a private beach with no buildings or other facilities.....on the caribbean. Pure bliss. Tayrona Park has numerous beaches, all different from one another, and varying in privacy. The beaches here are known to be in the top 5 prettiest in the world.
Bogota, Colombia - Me in front of the cathedral in the Plaza de Bolivar.
Medellin, Colombia - On the very famnous metro-cable transport system. The city has a train and cable car system, the latter for transport to the higher mountaneous areas of the city.
Cali, Colombia - Cathedral in the centre of town that I thought had great architecture.
La Calera, Colombia - The view of Bogota by night from this village just outside Bogota was breathtaking.
Bogota, Colombia - View of one side of the plaza de Bolivar.
Bogota, Colombia - View of the city whilst climbing Monserrate, the highest point of the city. It was a hard trek up at 6.30 am but well worth every ache and minute!
Bogota, Colombia - one of the spectacular views I was treated to after reaching the top of Monserrate, after an hour of hard trekking.
Zipaquira, Colombia - The underground salt cathedral. This is one of the underground passageways.

Medellin, Colombia - At the very interesting Museo de Antioquia in the city centre.
On Ometepe, trekking from one finca (farms which had hostels in them) to another, with all my gear on, and it rained!!
Bogota, Colombia - The cathedral at Monserrate, the highest point in Bogota city.
At Majagual, Nicaragua (Pacific coast). This cave in the rock formations on the beach was a great sight....something I had never seen before. We got stuck here in high tide and the water came in with alot of force. Many of us got hurt and/or lost belongings.....but it was worth it!
Bocas del Torro, Panama - Chilling with a few friends after a night out. This photo is meant to show how long the beard got before I trimmed it (and this was 2 weeks before the trim!!)
Taganga, Colombia - Oh sweet Taganga......I got to experience beautiful sunsets over the caribbean sea everyday whilst I was here.
Gairaca, Tayrona National Park, Colombia - On the uninhabited private beach before gping off for our night dive at 10.45pm. It was a great dive!
Medellin, Colombia - Nicely decorated cathedral in Pueblito Paisa.
Cali, Colombia - Cool picture of a Government building behind palm trees in the main square.
Bogota, Colombia - The catherdral at the Plaza de Bolivar in the city centre. The square is very pituresque, with mountains on one side and the city on the other.
Bogota, Colombia - Another view from the plaza de Bolivar.
Bogota, Colombia - A painting that I fell in love with at the national museum. Campesina Cartagenera by Enrique Grau.
