The grand Hotel a la Commedia is situated opposite the Goldoni Theatre in the heart of Venice's historical centre, 50 metres from Rialto Bridge and 200 metres from the vibrant St. Mark's Square. The hotel offers 35 air conditioned guestrooms with cream decor, plush carpets, heavy drapes and dark wood furniture. All guestrooms open on to balconies and include LCD televisions with satellite channels, direct dial phones, minibars, safes, CD players and wireless Internet connections. Marble bathrooms have golden mosaics and feature slippers, bathrobes, phones and complimentary designer toiletries. Guests can select a drink from Bar Teatro to enjoy on the roof terrace, which features panoramic views over the city. Travellers with laptops can book sightseeing tours of Venice online using wireless Internet (surcharge) or do so through the concierge at the 24 hour front desk. Guests have discounted use of facilities at a nearby fitness centre. Nearby attractions include the Fenice Theatre, 200 metres away and the beaches on Lido island, five kilometres away. Venice Marco Polo Airport is seven kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 30 minutes.

    A regular waterboat service and water taxis run from the airport's marina to Venice. Water taxis to the hotel cost about 90 EUR and take half an hour to Rialto waterbus station, 200 metres from the hotel. A more cost effective, but time consuming option (one hour) is to catch a bus to Piazzale Roma car terminal and change here to the ACTV public water bus (line one) getting off at the Rialto stop. Turn right and walk for 20 metres, turning left into Calle del Carbon. Driving directions: From the airport drive in the direction of Venice passing through the Ponte della Libert�. Park cars at the Piazzale Roma car terminal then catch public transport to the hotel.
