Sat 25th - Ketchikan-rock'n'rollin along

Sailed to Ketchikan overnight and it was a rockin and rollin experience - even the crew had trouble sleeping as we ran into some weather and the boat really got moving around. Pulled into Ketchikan in the late afternoon and it was raining quite a lot.  Kids both decided to go to kids club and there was no point in doing any kind of tour given the weather so Bill and I went to the museum where we booked 15 minutes on the internet and then did some.........shopping.

Ketchikan is another place where there is a highway but no road in or out - kinda like Juneau but here you have to come by water or fly and even the airport is on a different island.  It is a pretty place but we couldnt really appreciate it because of the weather.

Casual dinner then went to see a very funny comedian, collected Cate and off to bed! We havent really got into the "sitting in the bar listening to music" thing - drinks cost a fortune and we have to get Cate each night by 9.45pm so its a good chance to catch up on sleep, read and in general, enjoy life.

Had to break out the big stripey bag today to start packing things in - not a good sign as we still have San Fran and San Diego to go but there is so much cool stuff to be had and at such bargains, whats a girl to do?
