GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAL! Real Madrid!
From A Return to Home - The 2010 Adventure to South Africa and Egypt in Madrid, Spain on Jun 28 '10
With no luggage and 15 hours to spare in Madrid, we did what we thought would be best. We took the #8 Metro Train from the Madrid Airport and traveled down to the Nuevous Nationalis station. From there we took a 5 minute walk and bought ourselves 4 TICKETS to see the REAL MADRID Soccer Stadium! Which was PERFECT, because we stink and it is good to be in the outdoors where we son't bother too many folks. But let me be clear...it is the growing adolescent boy that stunk the most. To make matters worse...he wouldn't change his shirt because he had a Chelsea shirt on under his hoodie! You can't go into the REAL MADRID stadium and wear a Chelsea shirt. But he was not alone...Kenton had on his Turtle neck...Bennett had on his long sleeved shirt. Eventually good sense and desire to smell nice won out and they changed their shirts. Which I was grateful for...because you know my >>> doesn't stink (he he he).
Anyway, we got into the stadium and for 15 Euros for adults and 10 Euros for kids you can get access to the stadium. First place we visited was the top of the stadium. We got to take pictures and view the stadium in its entireity. It was nice up there. The we worked our way around and down through the stadium visiting the impressive trophy room, the museum/history room, down to the pitch, visitor locker room, press room and then gift shop. Of course the gift shop. But before the gift shop, I happened to have lost the boys because we didn't meet up after the pit stop. I took up the stairs thinking they went on to the shop. Turns out they were not there. I turned to go back down but the security guard would not let me down. Standing there smoking with a bunch of other young girls, who were also smoking, right outside the stairs/door. So I had no way to contact them and ended up waiting 20 minutes ofr them to give up on me and go up to the gift shop. GEEZ. Poor Bennett was crying because he thought they lost me.

Anyway at the end of the tour we walked back to the train and noticed that there are a lot of smokers in Madrid. What is up with that?! In the aiport they have this "No Smoking" policy. But they say over the PA system, if you want to smoke, you can in the designated smoking rooms. These rooms, are glass, with purifying fans that don't work, and no ceiling. So with no smoking in the airport, it sure smells like there is a lot of smoking going on!
I'm being harrassed to let a small person check their fb page. So this entry will end. I'll edit it tomorrow. Stayed tune...maybe tomorrow, in J-berg we will have our luggage. Then, maybe not! Game on!
How can we serve you better?
