Travelling to DC
From World Tour 2010 in Washington, United States on Jan 22 '10
Nothing much to report today. We were up early to catch the shuttle at 8am. Our flight was not until 11am but with the lines at airport you can’t be too early. We encountered a slight issue with my bag being 7 pounds over the allowed 50 pound limit. I had to move items from my large case to the smaller one right there in front of the counter. Doesn’t matter what class you are travelling in – no more than 50 pounds allowed per bag. While waiting at the gate, an announcement came over the PA system – “Would the person who left behind five thousand dollars wrapped in a yellow rubber band please report to the information desk – we have your yellow rubber band”. Funny. The flight ended up being delayed about an hour for some unknown reason.
The flight to Chicago was uneventful and as we landed we saw a fair amount of snow on the ground. Luckily, we were continuing on the same plane, so we didn’t have to rush to another gate in another terminal. The one hour lay-over turned into 20mins as they were trying to catch up on some lost time. The flight to DC from here was only an hour – just long enough to have dinner. We had lost 3hrs in travel today, and with our late arrival it was now 9.30pm. When we checked into the hotel, we mentioned all the rain we had had in Vegas, and the lovely lady at the front desk upgraded us to a small suite. Even though we hadn’t really done much today, we were both very tired, Joe especially so with his head cold in full bloom.
Don't leave your money behind at the airport in Vegas!
