A day and half in Dallas is enough time for this city. It's not that there is anything 'wrong' with Dallas, it's just that there is nothing much to do really. It's not much of a tourist destination, more of a business centre with lots of big skyscrapers.

Arrived in yesterday and almost immediately met some people from the previous hostel in Austin. That was handy 'cos the hostel here is way outside of the city and for some reason the trains don't run on sundays! I say 'hostel', its actually a house thats been converted. Its kind of strange as there is no reception or anything, the owner just lives down the street. Its nice though.

Went into Dallas today, the place is eerily quiet for such a large city. The most interesting thing to do is look at where JFK was shot. Visited the 6th floor musuem where you can see where Oswald fired the shots. Still plenty of conspiracy theories about though, I reckon there was a bit of a coverup alright.

Went for some dinner in the afternoon, and ordered chips and Aligator. Yes- Aligator! Its alright actually, tastes kind of like chicken. Not often you get to eat some aligator.

So thats it from Dallas, there is a Southfork ranch you can visit, but its quite a bit out, so I didnt get a chance to look at it. Fort Worth is the neighbouring city, I imagine it might be a bit more fun, with cowboys and rodeo and the like going on.

Im off to Vegas tomorrow morning until Sunday, should be a blast. Pics on Picasa http://picasaweb.google.com/jbyrne83
