Viva...Las Vegas!

From Leaving on a jet plane...don't know when I'll be back again... in Las Vegas, United States on Oct 08 '05

KC-Girl has visited no places in Las Vegas

So day one in vegas we were all a little awestruck and kind of wandered the streets. That night we went to this club called The Beach - insane. They pour tequila down your throat form the bar (think Coyote Ugly) We also went to the Gracelands Wedding Chapel (and drove past The Little White Wedding Chapel where Britters got married!!) where a faux wedding was set-up between two fellow Conikians - tres hilarious!!! It's not unusual to see brides on the monorail, in the street, on the sidewalk etc... Day two we were kickin it like old timers. After a bit all the themed hotels kinda look the same just machines everywhere, so Haike and I went to this amazing exhibition at the Tropicana of artefacts from Titanic. It was fantatsic and quite moving. They even had a huge piece of the hull on display - amazing. Then is was off to MGM to see the lion habitat (the lions are decendents of the original MGM lion), Fashion Show mall and Jimmy Buffetts Margaritaville for margaritas of course! In margarita heaven there and you should see the size of the vessels that is some serious tupperware! You can drink in the streets too, so of course everyone does. Doesn't seem to be out of control ever though - so all good. Last night we went for dinner at Hard Rock, some of the group went to Tom Jones / Motley Crue (aussies) and Elton John. The rest of us went to Splash which is a Vegas institution - it's been re-worked as 2005 is the 100th anniversary of Vegas. Top quality all goods and yes boys in Vegas tradition the girls were topless for a good portion of the show ;) Then it was back to the Bellagio to see the famous fountain display (they really love Elton and Celine and the fountain moved to these last night) as seen in Ocean's Eleven so that was quite special. Then to the Monte Carlo were I ordered the largest Margarita I have ever seen and three of us drank that. This is my favourite casino it is not as OTT as the rest and actually a little more classy in its decor. Then to New York New York to check out Coyote Ugly and we settled in a lounge bar where we randomly met (T. is loving this I know) Stevie Wonder's guitar player Morris O'Connell! Stevie's album drops here next week so that was pretty cool as we got to hear it.
