New York is one busy city. Way to much to see and do and not enough time. The day we arrived we found that we had been pre-checked-in at our Hotel so even though it was before lunch we had access to our room. We dumped all our luggage and hit the streets. We had to make our way to Madison Square Garden to pick up our ice hockey tickets for that evening. We decided to brave the subway and boy was that an experience. We were assisted by a young off-duty police officer who pointed us in the right direction.

After picking up the tickets we wandered around and found somewhere to have something to eat. We were quite close to the Empire State Building and decided as we had a couple of hours that we would get in the line for this. The view from the observation deck was amazing. After this Joe rang his mate Daniel and we met up with him for a cup of coffee then went back to The Garden.
The Big Apple
The ice-hockey match was OK - although our seats were quite high up. The atmosphere made it a good evening, and we got good value as there was extra time and a shoot-out before the Rangers were vistorious.

The next day we had a 5hr shuttle tour of New York which which took us past lots of places, including Wall Street, Ground Zero, Lady Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge.
After this we wandered around and walked to Central Station then headed home. We had arrange to meet up with Daniel and his wife Ke for dinner close to where we were staying. Joe and I walked to the restaurant which was a popular place to go for great steaks. Even though we had a reservation we waited about 45mins to be seated. It was worth waiting as the eye-fillet steak was fantastic, and the pecan pie was scrumptious! There was only one other take left in the restaurant when we decided to leave (and I was sure the people at that one were mobsters!). Was time to catch up on some much needed sleep.
