So I boarded the bus in Bratislava on the way out of Slovakia.  Arrived in Vienna just 1 and a half hours later, found my hostel relatively easily although I did have to catch the U-Bahn..  The hostel was fairly nice, the rooms quite big and most importantly clean!  I ventured off down the main street, the city is very big and very good for shopping, just wish I had loads of money to blow cause I think I would have had a lot of fun!!  Vienna is very much the bustling capital, much different to any of the other capitals I have visited so far.

Today I packed in most of the city centre sights.  Another Aussie from my room and I started by walking down the main street and then down Museumplatz past a couple of cathedrals and through Parliament.  The Hofburg was quite impressice, very large old building with a massive park called Volksgarten right in front.  Vienna has quite alot of lovely parks in the centre of the city, being Autumn most of the trees were without leaves, I think it would be most impressive in the summer time.  We covered the main centre of the city, there is quite a lot to see here and ended it with a couple of drinks at a funky bar/cafe.  It was quite cold today and was raining for most of the day.

As I packed most of the sights into yesterday, today I had a relaxing day, visited a couple of the sights I didn't do and caught up on a couple of emails.  I found an English cinema and went to see 'The Devil Wears Prada' in the evening which was great!  Spent the rest of the evening packing (or trying to) my backpack ready for the next full day of train journey.
