Ok guys i have eventually found time to sit down and write about the fab weekend we had in Budapest Budapest is a lovely city and i highly reccommend visiting it.It has lovely old buildings with a hint of Eastern block still there too. It's really easy to get around by foot or on the metro. We walked across the chain bridge into Buda and took the funicular railway to the top of  a hill which gave us  a great view of Pest and the Parilament building. The Palace is up there too so we wandered around taking in the sights. It's great as Hungary are not in the Euro yet so everythin is pretty cheap by UK standards. Oh  the goulash and local food is dee-licious and the Dreher beer goe sdowm a treat ion the heat!

As for the Hungaroring its a pretty smart track. It did take us just over 1 1/2hrs to get to the track from downtown Budapest. It's only 14k away but we had to take 2 metros and then the free bus. wasn't too bad. Then it was then a 30 odd min walk in the searing heat but for the guys there was a topless outdoor bar with the girls in paddling pools!!!Only in hungary eh!

Goulash and fast cars!

We had seats in the Redbull stand which turned out to be superb! Right at the last corner. We could see the last 2 corners, the cars entering the pit straight ,the back of the grid and the exit of the 1st corner! Fantatsic eh, All for 149 euro for the weekend!! Because the track sits in a basin you can see a good chunk of the track from anywhere. The track was pretty short which meant there was always a few f1 cars whizzing past us at some point. During the race it seemed the back markers were passing then a few seconds later massa and Heikki appeared, was great viewing. We also lucked out as i had an english guy sat next to me who had Kangaroo tv so was keepin us updated on what was goin on in the pits. We had a huge tv right in front of us but unlike other races ive been to there was no commentary which was unusual, but the race was easy to follow ,esp as we could see who was pitting

I did hang my big banner up but some rude Germans covered it up with their Ferrari banner!! My cousin sorted them out and we got ours on display again Got a great pic of Webber looking at it When i went to take it down after the race they were swearin in German at me-idiots! I felt like sayin haha your beloved Ferrari blew up with 3 laps to go !

The f1 village was well set up and the merchandise tents were massive, good for cooling down in.There was lots of interactive stuff to do tooThere was lot of free face painting going on too.

Anyways we had a fantatsic weekend even though it was like a bazillion degress! I can totally handle the heat, but that weekend was just unbearable! It was so hot and humid and no breeze! thank goodness for the WebberHeads(cheers Debby) they made pretty good fans. I think we should go into business and sell them at the tracks.Got so many people asking where they could buy them

I will defo go back to the Hungaroring, just hope its a few degress cooler next time. My 6 day Hungarian trip cost less than my Silverstone trip last year!

until my next adentures.. ciao
