Bora Bora by WBWallace

Wondering what it would be like to take a cruise around the world? Follow WBWallace a retired couple from Maryland who started 2007 by hoping aboard a ship that will take them from North America to the South Pacific, Asia, Africa, Europe and many destinations in between! After a send off party in Florida, they headed to South America for a stop in Peru, Chile and more before heading to beautiful Bora Bora:

“This morning we arose in time to see our entry into the beautiful Teavanui Pass, a narrow passage way into our anchorage at Vaitape, Bora Bora-our last stop in French Polynesia.. This island is surrounded by a beautiful lagoon and fringing reef. As of 2002 the population was about 7,250 including some Americans who remained here following WWII.” (more…)

From Day by Day by TravelZen

Travel to a new and uncharted destination reorients the senses, opens the mind, entices the imagination, and tickles the feet with the itch of exploration. Sometimes you want to imbed your footprints in sands less traveled by, to venture off the beaten path—if this rings true for you, try the Cook Islands, affectionately known as “the heart of Polynesia.” Fifteen Islands each with their own unique culture and charm offer the variety necessary to stir the imagination of travelers seeking the unexpected.

TravelZen, an adventurer also enjoying New Zealand and North America recently uncovered some of the special charms inherent in the Cook Islands:

“Sunday - is a quiet day on the island, nothing is open so after sleeping a lovely 10 or 12 hours and awakening to the roosters crowing and palm leaves rustling, we decided to go for a hike nearby. We walked the Avana stream into the interior and were amazed at how green everything was. We also visited the Paradise Resort down the beach and had another yummy meal.” (more…)
