Seattle Tacoma SEA Airport Overview
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport SEA, or simply 'Sea-Tac' is gateway to Alaska and East Asia, and point of entry for thousands of passengers on their way to/from cruise ships at Seattle's port. FlightStats selected Sea-Tac for excellence in departure performance among major international airports (its record in 2010 for on-time departures: 85 percent).
The Airport is located between the cities of Seattle and Tacoma, in Washington State's breathtaking Puget Sound region, borders on the intersections of State Roads 518, 99 and 509, and is only 1.5 miles from Interstate Hwy 5.
With three long runways and an estimated 31.5 million passengers a year, Seattle-Tacoma International is a hub for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, and is served by many airlines offering direct and connecting flights to destinations throughout North America, Europe and East Asia. Emirates Airline will start service to/from Dubai on March 1, 2012

Check-in Information: (a) New check-in kiosks from select Airlines to print boarding passes are available for passengers without luggage, Those with luggage on Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air can get their boarding pass and then take their luggage right to their airline's baggage drop area. (b) To get to the closest checkpoint (CP) near your departure gate, use the following checkpoints: For Horizon's C gates and for Continental and Southwest use CP 2; for Horizon's S gates use CP 3; For Air Canada, Alaska & United use P4; for all other airline use P1. (c) The Global Entry program for international travelers is now available and applications therefor are accepted at the new Enrollment Center on the Mezzanine level. The use of the Global Entry card reduces average wait time by 70 percent. (d) There is a new flight information display at the light rail station
The passenger terminal complex at SeaTac Airport consists of a main terminal, divided by a central terminal area with four concourses A through D, and the North and South Satellites, and can be accessed from one central parking and ticketing area. Parking options at Sea-Tac Airport include a cell phone lot, a parking a garage with daily, short- & long-term parking, connected to the main terminal via skybridges on the 4th floor, as well as off-Airport parking lots. (For detailed parking information, click on 'Airport Parking'.)
Rental car agency desks are presently located in the baggage claim area of the main terminal. Five of them have car pickup/dropoff on the first floor of the garage across from the terminal. Off-Airport rental cars provide their own courtesy vans to the Airport. However, a new Rental Car Center is to open mid-2012 at South 160th Street & International Blvd. south intersection, freeing up much-needed parking spaces..
To get from SeaTac Airport to your destination you can rent a car, take a taxi or limo, a shared ride van or scheduled Airporter service. Staffed Ground Transportation Information Booths are located on the third floor of the Parking Garage and in Baggage Claim, opposite Carousel 12. Transportation options can be found at:
(a) The Baggage Claim level of the Main Terminal serves at the South Lot scheduled Airporters & charter buses (A&B Specializd, Bellair Airporter Shuttle, Black Hills Transport; Bremerton-Kitsap Airporter, Capital Aeroporter; chartered cruise ship buses; Island Airporter, Kenmore Air Shuttle; Olympic Bus Lines, Quick Shuttle, Vashon Airporter; and Whidbey Sea-Tac Shuttle.
(b) Transit Bay 3 is for Paratransit; Transit Bays 2 is for Sound Transit.
(c) Parking Garage, level 3: Island 2 - Downtown Airporter; Islands 1 & 3: Hotel courtesy shuttles, off-site parking shuttles, off-site rental car shuttles; Inner Drive: Shuttle Express and taxis.
1. The Shuttle Express is the only on demand door-to-door shuttle service at SeaTac, covering Seattle, Tacoma, Everett & th Eastside; it also provides limos, buses & charter services.
2. You can get to the City by Central Link's light rail, departing from the new SeaTac/Airport Station, which is connected by a pedestrian covered walkway to Skybridge 6, located on the 4th floor of the Parking Garage, which connects to the main passenger terminal's ticketing level. Trains run every 7.5 minutes during ruh hours and every 15 minutes thereafter, MonSat 5am-1am & Sun 6am-midnight.
3. The QuickShuttle operates scheduled bus service to Vancouver, Canada, making stops at downtown Seattle, Bellingham Airport and drop-offs inside the Canadian-US border.
Current and future Airport Developments:
1. The RCF or consolidated Rental Car Facility is under construction and is to open mid-2012. It will have five levels and able to process 12-14,000 real cars on a peak day.
2. Escalator replacement has started and will in the coming two years replace 42 of the old ones. This will cause normal routes to/from parking garage and terminal to be altered at times - signs will direct you. Completion of the project should be some time in 2013.
