Dallas Love Field DAL Airport Overview

Dallas Love Field DAL is primarily served by Southwest Airlines, which was founded and is headquartered there. Continental Express and American Eagle also provide jet service from the airport. Direct flight destinations are offered throughout Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Mississippi, Alabama and Kansas. These destinations are limited by the Wright and Shelby amendments, which were passed by Congress to protect the Dallas/Fort Worth DFW airport traffic. However, Dallas Love Field has emerged as an affordable and convenient alternative, as evidenced by its growing passenger count.

The Airport is located within Dallas city limits on 8008 Cedar Springs Road. - 7 miles NW of the downtown business district of of Dallas, Texas.

With an estimated 7 million passengers a year, Dallas Love Field, which started in 2010 a 4-year modernization program, uses now 2 temporary terminals T1 & T2 to accommodate it airlines.

The passenger terminal at Dallas Love Field is presently undergoing the 'Love Field Modernization Program'  to be completed by 2014. NOTE: The passenger terminal is now temporarily split into two terminals - T1 & T2 - and two DART bus stops will now be (a) near Terminal 1, south of the pedesrian walkway leading to Parking Garage B, and (b) at the end of Terminal 2's baggage claim hall. To get from Dallas Love Field Airport to your destination you have the option of renting a car, taking a taxi located on the upper level across the street from the baggage claim, or taking one of the following shuttle services:
1. Shuttle Service: City Shuttle--(214) 760-1998; Super Shuttle--(800) 258-3826; or Yellow Checker Shuttle--(972) 222-2000) or 214-841-1900.
2. Public Transport:  DART buses--(214) 979-1111--which serve the areas of Addison, Carrollton, Cockrell Hill, Dallas, Farmers Branch, Garland, Glenn Heights, Highland Park, Irving, Richardson, Rowlett, Plano & University Park.
DART bus to downtown Dallas: Route 310 runs weekdays; Route 408 runs every day.


NOTE:  The DART Green Line light rail is to link directly to the people mover system in the terminal.
